Screening of AWAKE: The Life of Yogananda
“The hours are more important than the days, the minutes more important than the hours, the seconds more important than the minutes…you are the master of the moments of your life. When you fully realize the beauty of each instant, the future takes care of itself.” — Paramahansa Yogananda
One of the most influential books in my life has been The Autobiography of a Yogi by Paramahansa Yogananda. There is now a film opening called Awake: The Life of Yogananda. The movie will be in Minneapolis starting Friday, December 12th. Please share this information with anyone interested in meditation, eastern philosophy, yoga and spirituality. Here is a blurb:
AWAKE: The Life of Yogananda is an unconventional biography about the Hindu Swami who brought yoga and meditation to the West in the 1920s. Paramahansa Yogananda authored the spiritual classic “Autobiography of a Yogi,” which has sold millions of copies worldwide and is a go-to book for seekers, philosophers and yoga enthusiasts today. (Apparently, it was the only book that Steve Jobs had on his iPad.) By personalizing his own quest for enlightenment and sharing his struggles along the path, Yogananda made ancient Vedic teachings accessible to a modern audience, attracting many followers and inspiring the millions who practice yoga today.

“In this new year I am a new person. And I shall change my consciousness again and again until I have driven away all the darkness of ignorance and manifested the shining light of Spirit in whose image I am made.” — Paramahansa Yogananda
